There's a lot to think about when preparing to move to uni, and it can be easy for your health to fall to the bottom of the priority pile. That's why we give you one less thing to think about with our range of convenient services and products.

We'll help make sure the essentials are covered before you head off, whether you need help moving your prescription, advice on common illnesses like sore throats and UTIs, booking your MenB vaccination, or how to fight that pesky fresher's flu. You've got the studying covered, we've got your health covered.

The ULTIMATE uni health checklist

To pack:

  • First-aid kit - for headaches, blisters and occasional cooking mishaps
  • Multivitamins - to help fill any gaps from a diet that's more beige than balanced
  • Hand sanitiser - an essential for shared-hall living
  • Cold & flu medicine - for when Fresher's Flu decides to rear its head
  • Rehydration support - for sports, late nights and everything in between
  • Contraception - so you're always prepared (sorry mum and dad)

To do before you go:

  • Find your nearest Well - locate the nearest Well Pharmacy to your uni so you know where to go for clinical advice or medicines
  • Transfer any prescriptions - move existing prescriptions over to your new pharmacy so that they're delivered there
  • Book your vaccinations - you might be eligible for a MenB or HPV jab

Your uni essentials

Our services

Here at Well, we offer a range of services to help you out at uni.

Meningitis B vaccinations

The government launched an NHS-funded MenB programme in England for 2026, making lots of new uni students eligible for a free vaccination. Find out if you're eligible, and how to book our private service if you aren't.

HPV vaccinations

Getting vaccinated against HPV is the best way for women and eligible men to protect themselves against the virus and the conditions it can cause. HPV is transmitted through sexual activity and skin-to-skin contact, so getting the jab before starting uni can help bring peace of mind.

Contraceptive pills

Our pharmacies offer the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service, making it quick and easy to get the contraceptive pill for free. Whether you're starting a new pill, continuing a repeat supply or looking for emergency contraception, our pharmacists can help.

Pharmacy First service

This is just a fancy way of saying you can skip the long queues at the GP and get treated for a handful of common illnesses in one of our pharmacies, including ear ache, sore throat and UTIs. Just walk in at your convenience and one of our friendly pharmacists will be able to help.
