Foundation Pharmacist programme
Our Foundation Pharmacist programme provides the perfect foundation, training and support for you to become a Responsible Pharmacist with the experience to deliver excellent patient care, as together we can make a difference.
Our established and successful Foundation Pharmacist programme is delivered through a structured syllabus, supportive training team and dedicated supervisors to support you in giving your career the best start. The aim of the year is to build on your knowledge, skills, and confidence to enable you to become a Responsible Pharmacist focused on person-centred care. With support from your Designated Supervisor, colleagues, and managers, you will have every opportunity to build up your experience. From 25/26 you will have access to a Designated Prescribing Practitioner to enable you to build your prescribing competency. If you have graduated from an MPharm against previous learning outcomes or from an Overseas Pharmacists Assessment Programme (OSPAP), your training year will does not include independent prescribing. Once your Foundation Pharmacist Training year has finished, you will have the opportunity to progress your career typically by moving into a Relief Pharmacist role. This role will enable you to develop your clinical and prescribing skills, take on additional management responsibility and build your confidence.
