How our Ear Health Check service works

1. Book online or in store

Find out more about our online ordering service for longer term medical products or appliances.

2. Attend your appointment

During the assessment, one of our clinically-trained practitioners will ask you a few questions, take a look inside your ears using a digital otoscopy, check for any wax build-up, irritation or infection, and assess your general ear health. Here you'll be able to capture videos and pictures of your ear canal.

3. Results & next steps

Our Ear Care Practitioner will then run through the findings with you and discuss your options for possible next steps if needed, such as earwax removal, a follow-up check, or an audiology referral.

Who should get an Ear Health Check?

You might benefit from an ear check if you:

  • Have blocked or ‘full’ feeling ears
  • Have reduced or muffled hearing
  • Experience persistent ringing or buzzing in your ears (tinnitus)
  • Are diabetic (given the increased risk of hearing and balance loss)
  • Have itchy or uncomfortable ears
  • Regularly wear hearing aids
  • Swim frequently or have recently been on holiday
  • Fly frequently
  • Want to understand the general health of your ears

Even if you don’t have an obvious symptom, regular Ear Health Checks can help spot potential issues early. Many ear and hearing problems develop gradually and can be easily missed, so our FREE service can give you access to the right support to help identify issues early and protect your long-term ear health.

What happens after the Ear Health Check?

There are a few potential next steps that you’ll be presented with depending on the findings of your Ear Health Check.

  • If we find a build-up of wax – you might be suitable for our microsuction Ear Wax Removal Service, which quickly and safely removes excess earwax
  • If we identify a hearing issue – you might require further monitoring, or referral to an audiology specialist

The Ear Care Practitioner who completes your assessment will explain everything clearly to help you understand your options.

Is the Ear Health Check free?
