- Sexually Active Individuals: People with multiple sexual partners and those who have had unprotected sex (without a condom or PrEP).
- Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM): due to being a higher risk group, testing is recommended every 3 to 6 months.
- People with HIV-Positive Partners: to monitor their own HIV status.Individuals with a History of STIs: Having another STI can increase the risk of HIV.
- Intravenous Drug Users: Those who share needles or other injection equipment.
- Pregnant Women: To prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
- Sex Workers: Due to higher exposure risk.
- People Who Have Been Sexually Assaulted: Immediate and follow-up testing is crucial.
- People in High-Risk Occupations: Healthcare workers and others who may be exposed to blood or body fluids.
- Individuals Who Have Had a Blood Transfusion or Organ Transplant Between 1978 and 1985: Before routine HIV screening of blood donations began.
