Description
This is a specially formulated peppermint-flavoured liquid suspension designed to relieve heartburn, acid reflux and indigestion via a “raft-forming” mechanism. The “Advance” version has higher strength of alginate compared to standard formulations, making it suitable when reflux is more troublesome.
Key Active Ingredients (per 10 ml)
Sodium alginate: 1000 mg
Potassium hydrogen carbonate: 200 mg
These work by forming a protective barrier (raft) over stomach contents to prevent acid from rising into the oesophagus and by neutralising some stomach acid.
Other ingredients include calcium carbonate, carbomer, preservatives (methyl & propyl parahydroxybenzoates E218/E216), sodium saccharin, peppermint flavour.
It is noted as sugar-free, gluten-free and vegan-friendly in many listings.
How to Use
Adults and children 12 years and over: Take 5-10 ml (i.e., one to two 5 ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime.
If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, seek medical advice.
Shake the bottle well before use. Store as per label instructions (do not refrigerate, keep out of reach of children).
