Description

The Newfoundland Prostate Health Test measures the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. Raised PSA levels can indicate abnormalities in the prostate including prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostatitis. Early detection is key for effective management of these conditions.

This home prostate test allows you to take control of your prostate health in the comfort and privacy of your own home. It requires just a finger-prick of blood and will give you results in just 5 minutes, with over 92% accuracy, allowing you to proactively monitor your health.

Who should take a Prostate Health self-test?

  • Men who do not have symptoms, are aged over 45 who wish to check their prostate.
  • Men with urinary tract symptoms (difficulty urinating, pain, increased frequency).

Younger men are increasingly being diagnosed with prostate health issues attributed to poor dietary habits, high stress levels, exposure to pollutants and toxins, higher rates of obesity in addition to frequent sexual activity and infections. Some individuals are at higher risk of developing prostate health issues:

  • Prostate Cancer: Men over 50, African-American men, and those with a family history due to genetic and demographic factors.
  • Prostatitis: Younger men, particularly those between 30-50, due to infections or inflammation affecting the prostate.
  • Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Men over 40, especially those with a family history, as the prostate tends to grow with age.

How to Use

  • Remove the lancet cap.
  • Clean the area to be pricked with the alcohol pad.
