Description
Diarrhoea Relief 2 mg capsules contain Loperamide hydrochloride, a fast-acting antidiarrhoeal agent. The medicine works by slowing intestinal motility (reducing the speed of bowel movements) and decreasing fluid secretion in the gut, thereby helping firm up stools, reduce frequency of loose motions, and relieve the urgent need to go. It is commonly used for acute non-specific diarrhoea and may be used for short‐term symptomatic relief under supervision. The usual adult dose is 4 mg initially (two 2-mg capsules), then 2 mg after each subsequent loose stool, with a maximum daily dose of 16 mg unless directed by a physician.

Important Notes / Warnings:
Do not use if you have bloated or distended abdomen, diarrhoea with high fever, bloody or mucous-containing stools (which may suggest bacterial infection).
Keep well-hydrated and consider rehydration fluids; this medication addresses symptoms but does not replace the need for fluid/electrolyte replacement.
