Your ear health matters. If you want to get clinical support and advice, book an ear health check at your local Well pharmacy. In as a little as 30 minutes, you can learn the cause of your symptoms and get earwax removed by a member of our pharmacy team.
Earwax is a sticky substance produced in the ear canal.
It is designed to trap bacteria, dust and small objects from entering your inner ear and causing damage.
If you have too much earwax, it can lead to a blockage that might cause pain or irritation. Microsuction can be used to remove excess earwax from your ears. It gently removes build-up from your ears through a suction tube.
Adding a few drops of olive oil to your affected ear a week before your appointment is recommended. It helps to loosen any hard wax so that it can be removed quickly.

This procedure is painless and does not involve water being squirted into your ear canal, as syringing does.
