Description
EMLA Numbing Cream (5%) can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, or temporary redness. Avoid using on broken or inflamed skin. Do not use near the eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes. Excessive use or large areas of application can lead to serious side effects, including methemoglobinemia. Not recommended for children under 1 year old or those with certain heart or blood disorders. Consult a doctor if pregnant, breastfeeding, or on medication. Keep away from heat and open wounds.
The active substances are lidocaine and prilocaine. Each gram of cream contains 25 mg of lidocaine and 25 mg of prilocaine. The other ingredients are macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, Carbomer 974P, sodium hydroxide and purified water.
