About Well Pharmacy
Helping people to look after their health for over 70 years
Well Pharmacy has been helping people look after their health for over 70 years. In that time, the world of pharmacy hasn’t changed much. That’s why we’re changing the way pharmacy works, both in our 760 UK-wide pharmacies, and through our online prescription delivery service, well.co.uk.
We want to keep offering you the same great care, whether you visit us in a pharmacy or order your prescription through the Well Pharmacy app.
The surest way to protect yourself from the flu is to get the jab. All of our pharmacies offer this service from October to March every year. The NHS pays for flu jabs for people who are at higher risk of harm from flu. Find out if you're eligible for a free flu jab- or you can pay for a private one.
We offer two kinds of medicine review: New Medicine Service (NMS) and Medicine Use Reviews (MUR), funded by the NHS. If you’ve just been prescribed a new medicine, the NMS can help you get the best from it. If you’ve been on the same prescription for a while, an MUR can help you establish whether you’re still getting the most from it. The NMS is only available in England, but MURs are available in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Not every medicine is suitable for these services. Your pharmacist can advise if your medicine is suitable for a review.
If you’re over 40, the NHS advises you have your blood pressure checked at least once every five years. We offer this service for free in every Well Pharmacy, and our pharmacist can give you advice about what your results mean.
If you can’t get to a pharmacy, or just don’t want the hassle of picking up your medicine in person, you no longer have to. In 2018, we launched the Well Pharmacy prescription service to get your medicines delivered to your door. It’s available through our website, well.co.uk, as well as our iOS app. The service is only available for NHS prescriptions, not private ones.
You can either download the Well app or use Well Pharmacy online through our website, well.co.uk. Tell us which medicines you take, then we send the request to your GP for approval. Once it’s been approved, we ask you to pay for your Well prescription or provide proof of your exemption. Then our pharmacy team will dispense, check and send your medication in a discreet package.
