Description
Hugo Boss Number One is a classic aromatic‑fougere launched in 1985, created by perfumer Pierre Wargnye. It opens with a vibrant, fresh burst of citrus and green notes—lemon, bergamot, juniper, green apple, basil, artemisia and grapefruit—giving a crisp and herbal lift. The heart blends in a rich floral bouquet including honey, lavender, rose, jasmine, sage and orris root, which adds warmth and complexity. The base is deep, masculine and textured, built on tobacco, oakmoss, patchouli, sandalwood, musk, amber, cinnamon and cedar—providing an earthy, spicy, subtly sweet foundation. It’s a multifaceted fragrance that feels powerful, refined, and ideal for evenings or cooler weather.
Ingredients
The formulation starts with alcohol denat. and aqua (water) as the solvent base, combined with the fragrance (parfum) blend. Common aromatic compounds and allergens such as linalool, limonene, citronellol, citral, geraniol, and eugenol are present, giving its floral, citrus, spicy, and woody accords. UV‑filters like ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate are included, plus stabilisers / antioxidants (e.g. BHT) to maintain scent integrity. Also featured are natural moss/wood extracts like oakmoss and patchouli, and warm spices (cinnamon) and amber compounds to round out the base.
