Description
This medicine is sold under the discretion of a Well Pharmacist. You will be required to answer a few short questions to ensure this medicine is suitable for you.
Codeine is indicated in patients older than 12 years of age for the short term treatment of acute moderate pain which is not relieved by paracetamol, ibuprofen or aspirin alone. This medicine is recommended for the relief of migraine, headache, backache, rheumatic pain, period pain, dental pain, strains and sprains and sciatica.
How To Use
For oral use only.
This medicine should be dissolved in at least half a tumbler of water.
- Adults: One to two tablets dissolved in water not more frequently than every 4-6 hours when necessary to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.
- Elderly: Same as adult dose. A reduced dose may be required.
- Children aged 16-18 years: One to two tablets dissolved in water every 6 hours when necessary to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.
- Children aged 12-15 years: One tablet dissolved in water every 6 hours when necessary to a maximum of 4 tablets in 24 hours.
Warnings
For the short-term treatment of acute moderate pain when other painkillers have not worked.
Do not take less than four hours after taking other painkillers.
If you need to take this medicine continuously for more than three days you should see your doctor or pharmacist.
This medicine contains codeine which can cause addiction if you take it continuously for more than three days. If you take this medicine for headaches for more than three days, it can make them worse.
Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to. If you do, talk to your doctor.
Do not take anything else containing paracetamol whilst taking this medicine. Talk to your doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine even if you feel well.

Ingredients
- Active Ingredients: Codeine phosphate hemihydrate 8mg, paracetamol 500mg and caffeine 30mg.
- Other Ingredients: Anhydrous citric acid, povidone, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium saccharin, anhydrous sodium carbonate, simeticone, polysorbate 80 and aspartame (E951).
