This medicine is sold under the discretion of a Well Pharmacist. You will be required to answer a few short questions to ensure this medicine is suitable for you.
Movicol Sachets 30s is a gentle, effective laxative designed to relieve constipation and maintain regular bowel movements. Each sachet contains macrogol 3350, which helps soften stools and make them easier to pass, along with electrolytes to balance body salts. It's suitable for adults and children over 12 years. Movicol is easy to use: simply dissolve in water and drink. Ideal for short-term or chronic constipation management.
How to Use
Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use.
Adults, adolescents and elderly:
1 sachet (= 1 dose) dissolved in 125 ml (1/4 pint) of water. Take this 1-3 times per day according to the severity of your constipation.
Long term use:1 sachet dissolved in 125 ml (1/4 pint) of water up to 2 times per day.
This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
Faecal Impaction:
Adults, adolescents and elderly: 8 sachets daily, all of which should be consumed within a 6 hour period. Each sachet is dissolved in 125 ml (1/4 pint) of water. (For convenience, 8 sachets can be dissolved in 1 litre of water to be taken within a 6-hour period.)
Treatment can be taken for up to 3 days.
Warnings
Before you take this medicine:
Do not take Movicol if your doctor has told you that you have:
A blockage in your intestine (gut obstruction, ileus)
A perforated gut wall
Severe inflammatory bowel disease like ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease or toxic megacolon
An allergy to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of Movicol
Other important information
Treatment can be taken for up to 3 days.
When taking Movicol you should continue to take plenty of fluids. The fluid content of Movicol should not replace your regular liquid intake.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. Some medicines, e.g. anti-epileptics, may not work as effectively during use with Movicol.

Macrogol 3350 13.125 g, Sodium chloride 350.7 mg, Sodium bicarbonate 178.5 mg, Potassium chloride 46.6 mg
On reconstitution in 125ml of water each sachet provides:
Sodium 65 mmol/l
Chloride 53 mmol/l
Bicarbonate 17 mmol/l
Potassium 5.4 mmol/l
Also contains: lime and lemon flavour, and acesulfame potassium as a sweetener. Lemon and lime flavour contains the following ingredients: acacia solids, maltodextrin, lime oil, lemon oil, citral, citric acid and water.
