We have been dispensing prescriptions from our pharmacies for over 70 years, so it is safe to say we know a thing or two about NHS prescriptions. We've broken down everything you need to know. So whether it is your first prescription or your 100th, we are here to support you.

How long does a prescription last?

Typically a prescription lasts 6 months. This may be different if you have been prescribed a controlled drug. You can always ask your pharmacist or doctor if you are unsure.

Can I get my prescription from anywhere?

In England, prescriptions are issued electronically. This means that you can pick up your prescription from any pharmacy of your choice. You can specify this with your doctor or sign up with Well and we can deliver your NHS prescription for free.

When is my prescription ready to collect?

Prescriptions usually only take a couple of days to prepare. If you choose Well you can download our app and be notified when your prescription is either out for delivery or ready to collect.

How do I get an emergency prescription?

If you have run out of medication or need a prescription urgently, you should call 111 or your GP for the quickest response.
