There are many reasons why you might have high blood pressure.
Pre-existing health conditions can cause high blood pressure, including:
- Diabetes
- Kidney disease or infection
- Obstructive sleep apnoea
- Glomerulonephritis – damage to the tiny filters inside the kidneys
