Description
Zolmitriptan is used to treat an acute migraine headache with or without an aura. It is not used for prophylaxis of migraines. The tablet only works once a migraine attack has started.
Zolmitriptan belongs to a class of medicines called selective seretonin receptor agonists. They work by narrowing blood vessels around the brain, stopping pain signals being sent to the brain and blocking the release of natural substances that cause pain, nausea, and other symptoms of migraines.
How to Use
Zolmitriptan is a tablet that is taken orally. It is usually taken at the first sign of a migraine, Zolmitriptan Zolmitriptan can be taken with or without food.
Warnings
Whilst taking the medicine, your reactions may be slower than usual, so take care when driving or operating machinery or tools that require concentration.
